PERMANENT PATHWAYS
Citizenship & Residency Applications
Canadian citizenship requires meeting physical presence, tax filing, and admissibility requirements. Residency obligation matters, for permanent residents who are not yet applying for citizenship, require careful calculation and, in some cases, humanitarian submissions.

OVERVIEW
Presence Calculated. Obligations Confirmed. Applications Complete.
Citizenship applications are refused or delayed most often because of physical presence miscalculation, incomplete travel history, or unfiled tax returns for years in which filing was required. Under the current Citizenship Act requirements, an adult applicant must have been physically present in Canada for at least 1,095 days (three years) within the five years immediately before applying, must have filed Canadian income tax where required to do so for at least three of those five years, and—if between 18 and 54 years of age—must meet the language and knowledge test requirements.
We reconstruct your travel history, verify the physical presence calculation against your entry and exit records (including partial-day credit for time spent in Canada as a temporary resident or protected person before becoming a permanent resident), and confirm every prerequisite is satisfied before the application is submitted.
